2012 Newest Wedding Hairstyles

Should I look like a pretty princess or like Lady Gaga? Questions similar to this are going through the minds of brides as they are trying to decide what their hair should look like on their wedding day.

Braids are the most popular trend of recent wedding hair styles. They are very versatile and can accomplish many different looks. The other hairstyle that is sweeping the nation is the Lady Gaga hair bow. Literally it is a "hair" bow because it is made by pinning hair to look like a fluffy bow.

There are many different braids that brides are incorporating such as: the waterfall braid, fishtail braid, french braid, and the dutch braid. Steph Brinkerhoff owner of Hair and Make-up by Steph acknowledges the popularity of braids, "Everyone knows it, braids are in style."

Braids have been around for ages, on the other hand the hair bow is new. Because it is the new style Brinkerhoff says that after she did one hair bow on a bride she hasn't stopped doing hair bows. Brides saw how cute it was and have been requesting it ever since.

Questions of how to do hair on a wedding day are of great importance. After all, the pictures taken on your wedding day will be shared on Facebook, stored in an album, and framed in your home. They will last a lifetime.

Most Popular Wedding Flowers

Who says roses have to be red? And violets blue? Brides of 2012 are bringing new trends to the table.

Branches Floral Design, an event floral company, has taken classic style and mixed it with today's trends to make detailed bridal bouquets. Another popular floral designer of 2102 is Etsy. Etsy is swamped with the newest in bridal flowers: custom fabric bouquets.

Branches Floral Design customizes bouquets to fit the bride's expectations. They pay very close attention to the design of the bouquets, centerpieces, corsages, and boutonnieres. Their design is popular among "twenty12" brides because of how unique each of their designs are. Seen at a more elegant wedding; a strand of pearls tied around the bouquet. Seen at a winter wedding; berries in the boutonnieres. Seen at a cowgirl wedding; twine interweaved throughout the flowers.

Branches Floral Design uses color and texture to meet the brides wishes. Costumers love the finished product,"We had a general idea of what we wanted, but Branches Floral was able to take our vision and carry it out even better than we could have imagined."

According to wikipedia Etsy is an E-commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items. That is exactly what the custom fabric bouquets are: handmade and vintage.  Brides love these new bouquets because they are crafty. They are made out of cotton fabric accessorized with beads, sequins, and jewels. These bouquets are popular because they last longer than real flowers do.

Her roses are red, but mine don't have to be. With floral designs like Branches, and fabric made bouquets like Etsy's every bride's flowers can be unique.

Cutest, Tastiest Cakes of 2012

Pink and Orange polka dotted outside with a ric rac finish.  Soft red velvet inside with a creamy vanilla flavored frosting. In the year 2012 you can literally have a cute cake and eat it too.

When choosing a wedding cake the bride has to decide the colors, shape, flavor, frosting, border, and number of tiers. The cake designer then takes that information and vuala you have a masterpiece.

Colors. The colors chosen for the cake are usually the colors of the wedding. The most popular wedding colors of the year are tangerine orange and pink. Those colors would make up the outside of the cake.

Shape. Square or circle, or circle and square? Most cakes are made up of these shapes but definitely not limited to them. The most popular shape of the year is the circle. Many cakes are made up of different sizes of circles on each level.

Flavor. Chocolate devil's food cake. This is the most popular because of the richness of the taste. In second place: yellow butter cake. And in third: lemon cake.

Frosting. Fondant or buttercream? Buttercream is more popular out of the two because it is creamy and smooth in texture. It is very easily flavored and colored to meet the wants of every bride.

Border. Different brides like different things, but borders that most brides like are ribbon and piping. Ribbon is chosen to accessorize the cake and piping is chosen to make a more classic looking cake.

Number of tiers. The more the merrier. That's what brides are saying today. Before 2012 cakes with three tiers were popular. However, now tall cakes are in.

The cake is the centerpiece of a wedding so it needs to be attractive. On the other hand, it is the dessert too. With the new cake trends of 2012 you can have both a cute and tasty cake!

Wedding Saving Tips

When is your wedding? Time of the year is the biggest key in saving money on your wedding.

The time of year effects the pricing of the food, venue, photographer, flowers, and cake. Here are 10 tips to help save you money on your wedding day.

1- Serve appetizers and desserts. Main courses are often too expensive.

2- Drink water. It is free!

3- Have your reception in a backyard. Less decorations are needed.

4- Have bigger tables. This cuts down the cost of tablecloths and centerpieces.

5- Ask for the assistant photographer. Often they are just as good as the head photographer, but charge half the amount.

6- Ask for a CD of your pictures. Printing pictures off on your own saves.

7- Choose flowers that are in season. More ready available.

8- Use more greenery. Still looks good and saves.

9- Order a 2 tiered cake and have a sheet cake in the back. No one will know the difference.

10- Use fresh flowers instead of sugar ones. Looks elegant and cuts the cost.

Save money while having the wedding you've always dreamed of!
